In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. –Genesis 1
Questions to ponder:
If and when science proves beyond doubt the age of earth being billions of years instead of the 600 years old, what does that do to the teachings of the Bible? I believe in science and have unwavering belief in God, but will have a hard time explaining to kids how these two conflict. I believe in both. Is that possible?
Creator God, you are wondrous and mysterious. Bless us with wisdom, as we seek to understand your creation. Bless us with insight and creativity, that we might teach your truths to our children in ways that open their minds and hearts. Amen.
