Update–
Edwards Church of Framingham hosted an amazing concert last Saturday night called, “The Spirit’s Tether!” We celebrated the restoration of our historic 150 year old Tracker Organ with a diversity of musical gifts. We are so blessed to have our organist Cheryl Elkins and our pianist Susan Minor. They are both accomplished musicians and did our Tracker Pipe Organ and Steinway Piano proud! We also enjoyed special selections from our Edwards Church Choir, On The Fence, (our own Bluegrass Band) and the Ballad Project featuring Willie Sordillo and Doug Rich. The choir was a standout with wonderful musical selections. “One Voice” featuring Nicola Seaholm was just beautiful! “On The Fence” played lively music with a special song in honor of our church organ composed by George Marcincavage, “Let Those PIpes Sound Out!” Willie Sordillo on saxophone and Doug Rich on bass made their debut on “The Ballad Project.” Their mesmerizing music was rich and soulful! A big thank you to Rick Seaholm, Commissioned Minister of Music for your dedication and hard work in making this night an evening we will never forget. Thank you Art Norton of www.artnortonphoto.com for capturing this event through your camera lens.
We’ve had a wonderfully musical kick-off to our year with services led on our newly restored (and sounding amazing!) organ and our historic Steinway grand piano, music by On the Fence at our outdoor service, and guest instrumentalists, Jenny Baylor and Ellie Leigh-Manuell. There are so many blessings here, it is fitting and appropriate that we bridge the musical kick-off and stewardship season with a celebration of these gifts at our fall concert, Saturday afternoon, November 3 at 6:00pm.
The concert will feature organ music by Cheryl Elkins, piano music by Susan Minor, On the Fence, our bluegrass band, our choir, and the combo of Willie Sordillo and Doug Rich (sax and bass). Please join us and invite a friend! The free will offering will go toward disaster relief through the UCC.
