A Lenten Devotion by Evelyn McGuirk
Then God said, ‘I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth, and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.’
Genesis 1:29
And God is not served by human hands as if He needed anything, rather He himself gives everyone life, and breath and everything else.
Acts 17:25
Growing up I lived with my grandparents and there was a big apple tree in the backyard, which my cousin and I climbed. It had delicious apples which we picked and ate.
My grandmother also made apple pies from its fruit and sold them. We used to sit on the bench around the tree and enjoy its shade.
Thank you God for trees that provide food, shelter and shade. May we not take them for granted. Thank you for meeting all our needs.
