A Lenten Devotion by Sarah MacLennan
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts.
Psalm 84:1
Since I left Framingham I have been unable to find a new church home. Edwards definitely spoiled me; everyone was so very friendly and welcoming.
However, I have found a cathedral where I can walk every day among towering oaks and pines. Every tree lifting its limbs to the sky, as its roots seek nourishment and stability in the soil. And most importantly for us humans, trees are storing carbon, from our excesses, helping to protect us from climate change.
To quote Joyce Kilmer… “Only God can make a tree.”
Aren’t we all blessed?
May we lift our limbs to the sky; may our roots seek nourishment and stability in the soil of your love, O God. Amen.
