We have so much going on musically this summer, I’m excited to tell you about it here. Our Thursday evening music appreciation classes have been a lot of fun to prepare and lead. And from what I hear, they have given people a lot to think about too. Recent topics have been “Beethoven’s Unusual Openings,: “Sonata Form,” and “Watery Music.” I’ll take a few weeks off this summer which I’ll report to people elsewhere. We run from 6:30 till about 7:20.
As for Sunday worship, we had a wealth of music recorded especially for these online services throughout May and I’m eager for it to continue this summer. And it’s not just restricted to staff, no way! If you want to record something at your home to send to me for a service, please email me and we’ll work it out!
We are also going to see some cross-household collaborations ahead, including a fun chance to sing and play “together” on the classic “What a Friend.” Willie Sordillo is coordinating that effort and he, Nicola, or I can give you details to join the fun.
Join me for Music Appreciation every Thursday (summer break dates TBD) at 6:30 p.m.
You are in my prayers,
Rick Seaholm
