Kermit says … get outside!
The Green Team invites you to try two things to “green up” your world this summer:
- Volunteer for Produce Pick-up or Work Hours at Stearns Farm: From mid-June through October Edwards Church brings fresh produce every week from Stearns Farm on Edmands Road in Framingham to the Hope Food Pantry in downtown Framingham. Anyone can sign up to pick up the food on a Friday afternoon and make the delivery to the pantry on Saturday morning. The procedure will be a little different (actually, even easier) this year for safe social distancing, but it will happen. We also need folks who can do some farm work to contribute to our shared hours—again, this will be a little different this year due to social distancing, but it can be safely done, and youth could be involved. For more information, contact Mary Memmott.
- Join “Clean Up Framingham” on Facebook: The organizing committee for the Framingham Earth Day Festival didn’t let the cancellation of the event stop them; they have been encouraging Framingham residents to get out and pick up trash in their neighborhoods (safely) and post their progress to their Facebook page, Clean Up Framingham. Joe Hudock and others in the congregation have already contributed to this effort—check out their great pictures and reports, and then join in yourself! Every little bit helps. There are over 600 members of this group.
