A big thanks to all our Christmas Explorers for collecting $103.48 in the big penny jar over the past year and making a donation to Daniel’s Table in Framingham to help our neighbors who are food insecure. And congratulations to Olive Rousseau for making the closest guess of the amount in the jar. The penny jar is empty now, waiting to be filled with our pennies and coins in the year ahead!
Here are some special events and projects for Christian Explorers this month…
- Each Sunday at worship we will light the Advent Candles.
- Come to a Christmas party on Friday, December 11, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. hosted on zoom by the Board of Wider Missions.
- On Sunday, December 20 at 5:00pm. we’ll gather safely outside at Edwards Church for an “Illuminated Walk.” Rekindle the Christmas spirit with luminaries and firepit, a chance to light a candle in the sanctuary, decorate a tree for the birds, Christmas music and more.
- The “Star of Wonder” virtual pageant on Christmas Eve, December 24 at 5:00 p.m. There’s a part for every Christian Explorer family to participate! What part would you like to play…a cow, a sheep, a shepherd, an angel? Roles will be assigned, costumes created at home (with help from the costume closet, if needed), parts recorded, then combined into our own wonderful, unique retelling of the Christmas story.
- “Let me tell you a story…” Look for stories to listen to and watch on-line recorded by friends from our congregation. Stories are included in the weekly Christian Explorer’s email. Watch all the stories here.
Finally, keep in touch through zoom, letters, email and photographs. If you know of families and children who might like to join us, please invite them to join us on Sunday mornings or suggest they contact Karen Nell directly. See you on Sunday!
A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOU!
Children’s stories recorded by your friends from Edwards Church and slide shows of church events from the last year are available for viewing anytime by members of our congregation. You can access the Edwards Church “Let me tell you a story” Library here.
Children’s Story Readers
Children’s story readers always welcome to be videoed for the new “Let me tell you a story…” program. Contact Karen Nell for more information about this intergenerational ministry opportunity.
