The Green Team invites you to join us in reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, available at the Framingham Public Library and many online booksellers. Dr. Kimmerer has a unique perspective on our relationships with plants and other fellow beings, as a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and a professor of plant ecology at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. To find out more about the author before you read, you can watch her keynote address, “What does the earth ask of us” as part the UMass Amherst series “Planet on a Precipice.” You can sign up here and then you can watch anytime.
We will kick off this winter reading with a discussion of Dr. Kimmerer’s UMass lecture on Sunday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom (Watch at least part of the lecture in advance). Then we will meet again on Wednesday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom, for a discussion of the book. Email Mary Memmott for the zoom links or more information.
Kermit loves to keep learning!
