Join in the Green Team Rainbow Laundry Challenge!
During the month of May, the Green Team invites you to cut down on your use of your electric or gas clothes dryer and let the sun and air dry your clothes. The clothes dryer is one of the biggest “energy hogs” in most homes and you can really make a difference in your bills and your carbon footprint if you use it less.
Just hang up some laundry — indoors or out – and post a picture or a comment to the Edwards Church facebook page. Don’t use Facebook? Send your picture or comment to Green team member Laura Beck at ljbmusicteacher@gmail.com so she can record your effort.
As all that colorful laundry gets shared and noticed, Laura will add color to our “Edwards Church Rainbow Laundry Line” graphic. Right now it’s still black and white — we need YOU to give it some color. The more folks hang up laundry, the more color she will add.
Each week the Green Team will post encouragement, air-drying tips, and more to the Edwards Facebook page to help you get started if you’ve never hung up laundry before, up your game if you want to do even more, or even give up your dryer.
Let’s see if we can fill that laundry line with a rainbow of color and have some fun saving energy, spending less on utilities, and reducing our carbon emissions.
