How much have we collected in the big penny jar?We closed October with a wonderful Trunk or Treat event on Halloween. Thank you to all the Trunkers, Trick-or-Treaters and volunteers who helped make it so much fun!
This month, we learn about stewardship, count up the coins in our big penny jar, and decide together how we can use this money to help others. We also move back into the church for winter worship, with live-streaming on Zoom always available. Come to help create our indoor “tent of meeting” sacred space in the sanctuary.
Here are some special events and projects for Christian Explorers in November…
- A pebble for your pocket… On November 7 we’ll end worship with a procession back to the sanctuary and offer the gift of lessons we’ve learned from Christian Explorers for each member of our congregation.
- How much have we collected in the penny jar? When everyone gives, we can do great things together! How will we use all the money in the jar to help others? Be part of deciding how to best donate what we’ve gathered. And everyone will be able to submit their best guess at how much is in the jar. There’s a surprise for the one who comes closest without going over!
- Building the tabernacle. We’ve learned that every space we worship in is sacred space. Come to help create our own special worship space when we return to the sanctuary.
- Advent begins on November 28! Advent is the season of waiting for the arrival of the Christ Child. We’ll mark this special time by lighting candles on our own Advent wreaths. And watch for details about the youth Christmas wreath fundraiser and this year’s Christmas pageant!
