“In Celebration of Love”
As the stewardship team (Mike Ellis, Joanie White, Scott and Susan Cleveland) gathered to imagine a theme for our stewardship emphasis, we kept coming back to celebration and love. We celebrate returning to the sanctuary, for it is a place that has been built and maintained with love, a place that holds almost two centuries of love and prayers in its walls. We celebrate the richness of our time when we could not be in the sanctuary, for we found so many new ways to express our love for one another and to share our love with the world. It seems fitting that our giving should be “In Celebration of Love.”
Here’s what to expect in this coming month:
- On Sunday, November 7, we begin our celebration of love with communion and an All Saints acknowledgement of those who have gone before us. Mike Ellis will offer a stewardship moment. We’ll start outdoors, in Jim and Danielle’s yard. At the end of the service, we will process up the hill and into the sanctuary for organ music and a blessing. The Stewardship Team will host coffee hour on the lawn.
- On Sunday, November 14, we will gather in our sanctuary, with special music by Jane Ezbicki, Marian Levinstein, and Susan Minor. Ronda Yeomans will offer a stewardship moment. We will end the service by processing outdoors for our final hymn, so we can sing freely.
- Following our final hymn on the fourteenth, the Stewardship Team invites you to join in a brief congregational meeting—indoors and on Zoom. We will share a slide show about how we use your pledges and gifts in celebration of love.
- You will receive a mailing with more inspiration and information, which will include a pledge card.
- On Sunday, November 21, we will dedicate our pledges, in celebration of the love we share.
Join us for this joyous time!
