Donations to Pathways Shelter
The Special Offering December 5 and 12 will go to the families at the Pathways Shelter. Pathways is a SMOC facility which serves insufficiently housed adults and children in the Framingham area. Currently twenty people are staying there, but the number is likely to rise and could reach as many as forty by the end of December. Donations may be made by leaving checks or cash (in envelopes) clearly marked “for Pathways gifts” in the offering baskets at church or at the church office. Donations may also be made via PayPal on the Edwards Church website by putting “Pathways Gifts” in the note. Every donation helps and is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your donation.
The Christmas Fund
On December 19, you are invited to make a special gift to support The Christmas Fund of the United Church of Christ. The Christmas Fund provides supplementation of small pension payments for retired clergy who often served small congregations throughout their careers. It provides supplementation of health premium costs, to help ensure their wellness throughout their lives. And the Christmas Fund provides emergency grants and Christmas “Thank You” gift checks for retirees and those facing unforeseen financial hardship.
Fundraiser for Framingham Community Farm
For several years, we have hosted the Framingham Community Farm behind our office building. Rabbi Katy Allen and her partner Gabi are seeking to raise $3000 for the Framingham Community Farm by walking the Mid-State Trail, a ninety-two-mile route that runs from the Rhode Island border to New Hampshire. They will take it slow, and they will invite friends to join them along the way. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here: https://gofund.me/52636372.
