What are we waiting for? We’ve moved back into the sanctuary for worship, creating our new “tent of meeting” space for Christian Explorers. We hope you’ll join us there on Sunday mornings! In December, we celebrate Advent and learn about the feeling of anticipation.
Here are some special events and activities for Christian Explorers this month…
- What’s in the big box? Do you know the feeling of anticipation? Waiting, expecting, hoping…that’s what we’ll be pondering as we wait and get ready for Christmas.
- Working together to help others. When everyone gives, we can do great things together! In September and October, with the help of the whole congregation, we collected $196.62 in the big penny jar. How will we use the all the money in the jar to help others? Be part of deciding how to best donate what we’ve collected.
- Advent candle lighting. Advent is the season of waiting for the arrival of the Christ Child, and lighting the candles on the Advent wreath helps us to mark the time. This year, we’ll making our own Christ Candles to light on Christmas Eve.
- A hybrid Christmas Pageant. On Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary or at home, join us for our annual Christmas Pageant service, “What are we waiting for?” This year, some of us will make videos of pieces of the pageant at home, while others will play their parts live in the sanctuary during the service. Together, we’ll tell the story of the very first Christmas. Watch for more information and think about which part of the story you’d like to tell!
