As we examine the transformational powers of water throughout Lent, there will be several opportunities for you to get involved musically in March and April. To know the latest on dates and rehearsals, let me know and I’ll add you to our musician email list. A few highlights for March:
- This Sunday, March, 6, anyone who loves to sing is invited to sing Wade in the Water as our special music. We’ll gather at 9:00 to talk logistics of the song and rehearse it a few times. If you haven’t sung with the Edwards Church Choir before, don’t be shy! There will be a great number of singers and you’ll fit right in, I assure you. I hope to see you there.
- The following week, I’m inviting anyone who plays an instrument with strings that strum, pluck, or bow to join us for the song My Roots Go Down. All you need is a knowledge of four chords (D, G, A, Bm) on your instrument, or you can join as a singer. We’ll need both! I will email the list about rehearsal timing soon.
- There will be some other special opportunities on Sundays, too, but I would lastly like to draw your attention to a session of my ongoing music appreciation class on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17, at 6:30pm when our focus will be all about Irish music, a tradition I loved from the moment I married into a musically-minded Irish family. I’m very excited to share that enjoyment with you, so that you too can explore the vast catalog that exists.
