Christ is risen, risen indeed! Christian Explorers had a busy Lent learning about God from water. We saw ice being sculpted, made rain sticks, fired clay pots and planted sunflower seeds, made tornados in jars, and ocean waves in water bottles! This month we remember what Easter is all about as we celebrate the new life that’s possible with God’s love.
Here are some activities for Christian Explorers this month…
- Join the Palm Parade! On Sunday, April 10, we will worship at 11:00 a.m. when we’ll make signs to lead the Palm Sunday parade. Together with El Toque’s congregation we’ll march in the parade, wave our palms, and gather for crafts, snacks, singing and pony rides!
- Easter Sunday Fun—On Easter, Christian Explorers will help to create the flowering cross, hunt for “blessing eggs” in the sanctuary, learn more about the first Easter morning. Come to celebrate with church friends and family.
- Quilts for Kenya We continue to make fleece blankets and handprint quilts for the children’s beds in “The Cottage” at Sunrise School in Kenya. If you haven’t tied your blanket squares, there’s still time. Contact Karen Nell when they’re ready to be picked up!
- In the “Tent of Meeting” There’s always something to do at the tent during worship on Sunday mornings. In addition to bringing in and out the light and helping to fill the big penny jar and collect the offering, we work together on crafts and projects, read stories, and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus. We hope you’ll join us!
Interested in creating this Easter’s “Blessing Eggs”? We’re looking for fun and meaningful ideas for filling these eggs for Edwards Church’s Easter Sunday traditional “Blessings Eggs” hunt. Contact Karen Nell if you’d like to help!!
