Oh, the places you’ll go! We gather outdoors each Sunday morning this summer, and Christian Explorers have their own pray ground on the lawn of the Rousseau-Tanners house during worship. Stories about traveling to different places will be our theme!
Here are some activities for Christian Explorers this summer…
• How does your garden grow? Our herb garden is flourishing! Each Sunday we water and weed and there’s always a basket of sidewalk chalk on the front porch of Jonathan House. Come help tend our garden and enjoy being in God’s glorious creation.
• A mid-summer church picnic! Mark your calendar for Sunday afternoon, August 7th, when you’re invited to a church picnic at the home of Debbie Roy, Come for swimming, games, good food and summer fun with friends. Watch for more details in weekly Edwards emails.
• Filling our big penny jar. Our indoor penny jar is too heavy to move, so we’ll have to start counting the coins. During the summer, we’ll fill our summer penny jar, as we continue to work together towards making a donation and help other people.
• On the pray ground. Come to worship on the pray ground where there’s always a message, a craft and a snack. Christian Explorers help during the service by lighting the candle on the altarscape and collecting the offering each Sunday. After the service, you can climb up into the tree house!
“Oh, the places you’ll go!” A Summer Congregation-Wide Activity
As a fun way to keep our church family connected during this summer, you’re invited to take FLAT JESUS along on your vacation. Print out FLAT JESUS, color him in, and take a picture of him wherever you go. You’ll love taking FLAT JESUS out to dinner with you, sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the lake, hiking, biking, and just hanging with your family on vacation. Here’s your very own. Print him out on heavy cardstock paper, if possible, color him in and cut him out. (Laminating him will protect him if he attempts to walk on water!) Send your photos with FLAT JESUS to Karen Nell. Godspeed on all the places you go!

Our quilts for Kenya are done!
They leave for Mumias on July 8th to be hand delivered to the Sunrise School, a center for children with autism and other developmental challenges in Kenya. On Sunday, July 3rd, we will bless these eight beautiful quilts created by our team of sewers with help from Christian Explorers.
Thank you to Shirley Tetreault for her generous machine quilting and to all the many hands who cut and sewed, make handprints, tied fleece squares and crocheted!
