With our installation still ahead of us as I write this, I can only report that it is highly likely that through your abundance of giving, you will be able to see and hear all that Advent has to offer this year, as never before. As we settle in and learn the equipment (i.e. it might take a few shots!), you should hear more beautiful music, richer sermons, and fuller scripture. Not to mention, seeing the intricacies of our altarscapes, pins with years of service on each choir robe (well, that one is a bit of a stretch), and every art project the Christian Explorers create. Likewise you should be seeing less of me looking flustered on screen as I hold wires together, less of Nicola’s laptop in the frame as she tries to capture the children bringing in the light, and less chatter about who can and can’t hear the audio. In short, this Advent we will begin using our new worship technology. It’ll be slow at first, and as we learn (and gather up a squad of volunteers tech ministers), just watch what we’ll be doing as we cruise on toward Lent!
Musically speaking, the choir will be joining us on Sunday, December 18, with On the Fence playing, our Morning Glory choristers will continue to lead our opening hymns, and Amy Plackowski will sing for our 9:00 Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve. Our Pageant, earlier that evening is likely to be the first robust usage of our new gear. Please join us throughout December either in the sanctuary or online, you’ll have a great experience either way!
