Lent Begins!
Lent begins in February. It’s a time when we get ready for the coming of Easter. As followers of Jesus, this year we’re preparing by learning about some of the traditions of our faith. What does it mean to be a “disciple” and walk in Jesus’ footsteps? How do we pray and learn from others, past and present? Here are some activities for Christian Explorers in February…
- Jesus taught us, his followers. We’ve been learning the Lord’s Prayer, and we’ll share what we’ve learned with others in the congregation on Sunday, February 5. We’ll also be learning about how we remember Jesus last meal with his friends when we celebrate Holy Communion each month.
- Feed the birds! Jesus taught us to be kind to all of God’s creatures. On Sunday, February 12, we’ll make birdfeeders and hang them outside the church to feed the birds this winter.
- On the floor… There’s always something to do at the Tent of Meeting or in Sue Dickerman Hall during worship on Sunday mornings! In addition, Christian Explorers help lead worship by bringing in and out the light, filling the big penny jar, and collecting the offering. We hope you’ll join us!
