Special Offering for May: Project Bread/Walk for Hunger
Our Special offering for May will support the Edwards Church participants in the Walk for Hunger (see article below). Walk for Hunger is a program of Project Bread, which seeks to provide sustainable, scalable solutions that permanently move the needle on ending hunger. Their work includes policy advocacy, a focus on feeding kids, partnerships to address health issues that arise out of food insecurity, community engagement to ensure solutions address local needs, and efforts to overcome barriers to people accessing the food they need. Please give generously as you are able.
Project Bread Walk for Hunger
Sunday, May 7 at 8:00 a.m. at Cushing Park, Framingham
The Walk for Hunger is back in person in Boston this year, on a shorter route, with an option to organize your own local walk. We’ve had so much fun walking locally we’ve decided to continue to walk at Cushing Park in Framingham this year as we have since 2021. We will meet at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, to do as many loops around the park as time and stamina allow. Please contact Mary Memmott, at memmottm@gmail.com or 508-202-2229 if you’d like to join us as we walk. You can also donate to the walk, or sign up to collect donations from friends and family at this link. Our special offering for May will be for Project Bread, so you can also support our walkers by making a donation at Sunday morning worship. The need at local food pantries is great; your support is deeply appreciated.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed for May 7
Have you been enjoying our monthly fellowship hours? Might you be willing to be on a team to prepare coffee hour for May 7? It doesn’t have to be fancy: coffee and tea (either prepared in the kitchen or purchased from a local coffee shop) and some tasty treats. In a team of 3 or 4 people, the load is light and enjoyable. Chat with a friend or pew-mate to form a team, or let Nicola or Debbie know you can help, and we’ll connect you with others.
Mothers’ Day Special Collection
Sunday, May 14 during worship
As is our custom, we will hold a special collection on Mothers’ Day for A Place to Turn, a choice food pantry in Natick that takes pride in offering its clients a friendly and dignified experience. In honor of the mothers in our lives, we invite you to bring one or more of these items to worship on Sunday May 14: baking mixes, macaroni and cheese, one-pound bags of rice, canned beans, and individual snack items.
Compassionate Conversations
Monday, May 22 at 7:00pm
Would you like to have deep and meaningful conversations with fellow congregants? Are there topics you’d like to explore in a safe environment? Come and share your thoughts, feelings, concerns in a safe environment. We will discuss a different topic on the fourth Monday of each month.
Memorial Day Special Collection
Sunday, May 28 during worship
As part of our Memorial weekend worship service, hosted by Plymouth Church, we will collect items for the Soldier Care Package Outreach coordinated by First Baptist Church in Hingham. They will take our donations, along with the cards our young people will make, and send them in care packages to people serving overseas. Right now they need: Slim Jims, Twizzlers, small canned fruit, ground coffee, eye drops, Tylenol, puzzle books, sleeping masks, small individual Kleenex, or nuts. Please bring your donations to worship at Plymouth Church on Sunday, May 28, or drop them by the office the week before.

We’ll gather in Sue Dickerman Hall (or maybe under the tent if the weather is good) and enjoy a variety of treats while supporting a local business. Watch for paper and virtual sign-up options!
