Christian Explorers had a busy May as we focused on caring for the earth, counted the coins in our penny jar, made mud pie cookies, and planted our herb garden for the season. We decided to donate $200.75 from the penny jar collection to the OAIC Trees for Life project, helping to plant trees in drought-stricken areas of Africa.
Here are some activities planned for June…
- Celebrating Pentecost! – On June 4, we’ll worship outdoors on the lawn of the Tanner-Rousseau’s home and celebrate with our giant Pentecost dove, wind and flames, and communion. Don’t miss the fun!
- A Mosaic of Hope: Stories, Quilts and Stepping Stones – On Sunday afternoon, June 4, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., youth and families are invited to a special event at Edwards House, 1 Badger Road, in Framingham, where 10 quilts will be displayed honoring the last words of George Floyd. This is an opportunity to learn more about all the different ways we can speak out for justice through stories, quilts and a creative activity. All are welcome, please register here: Sacred Ally Quilts
- A gift for Sunrise School for Learners with Autism – In July, Pastors Debbie, Fran and Karen Nell and Peggy Harrison will travel to Kenya to visit Sunrise School. This month, we’ll create a gift for children at the school. Come to help with this project for our new friends in Kenya.
- Every Sunday at Edwards… There’s always something to do at the Tent of Meeting or in Sue Dickerman Hall during worship on Sunday mornings! In addition, Christian Explorers help lead worship by bringing in and out the light, filling the big penny jar, and collecting the offering. We also tend our herb garden each week. We hope you’ll join us.
