From the Choir Director
I’m excited to welcome back to the summer staff, Olivia Sorensen! Last year, Olivia really proved her worth at our outdoor services and this time, a recent college grad, she’s back at Edwards and ready to manage our worship technology both outside and inside.
And I particularly would like to draw your attention to the fact that our Pentecost celebration on June 4 will have a lot of special music, an exciting opportunity to hear (and make) a joyful noise outdoors! We will have an (indoor) rehearsal on Thursday evening, June 1, at 7:00 p.m., our last of the season.
It’s hard to remember that I have summers off at Edwards Church, given all that has happened since February 27, 2020 when I sent Debbie a business continuity plan with an email reading “Well, this comes out of left field, I know, but the tone of my news sources has taken a dramatic swerve this week as the CDC warns about Coronavirus.” I then began to detail possible ways that we could adapt if anything unusual was on the horizon. How innocent we were, having no idea that it would be a period of some 170 Sundays before I would take a break from worship planning.
I’m sure you’ll still see me from time to time, and I will be in touch with my beloved online music classmates as I determine a few summer dates but boy am I grateful for Olivia and for the volunteers that I have worked closely with this spring!
Blessings,
