Over the last few years, we have been working to reshape the organizational structure of our church to reflect changing needs and changing times. We have focused organizing our work together to enable lots of people to participate in lots of ways. Some of the teams we are creating will sit in meetings and study spreadsheets. Some will make visits. Some will plant flowers. Some will serve communion. Some will create beautiful altar-scapes or sing inspiring anthems. Some will take on responsibility for coordination and communication, so that our many teams are working together effectively.
We’ve been talking about this new structure for a while. Now it’s time to bring it to life. It won’t work perfectly at first; we will continue to tweak it for the coming year or so.
In preparation for our congregational meeting, coming up September 17 (see below), a Nominating Committee has been formed. Peggy Harrison, Fran Bogle, and Paul Blow will be reaching out to congregation members to begin to fill out our new structure.
Please consider, prayerfully and thoughtfully, how you can be part of enabling this church to serve God and care for God’s people and God’s creation.
