Edwards Provides Warm Clothes for New Arrivals
Debbie has been working with Jewish Family Services and SMOC to help meet the needs of Haitian refugees who have come to Framingham. The state has placed families in hotels while they await approval to work.
Most families arrived with only a backpack of belongings, and as the weather has turned colder, the community is stepping up to provide warm clothes. Debbie initiated a list of the specific sizes of members of 23 families, and people from various faith communities have provided new or like-new clothes for them.
Edwards Church funded fleece, jackets, shoes, socks, hats and gloves to members of three families, and other congregation members covered those items for two more families. Helen Draper helped coordinate the effort and shopped with Heather Gonzalez for the many items needed.
We are awaiting more details to help out more of the families, and Edwards will help out another couple of families. If you would like to sponsor winter clothes for a family, please contact Debbie!

Hi Debbie, I’m interested in making a donation for clothing. Please let me know how you want this done.
Thanks, Sheila
