June is a busy month when we celebrate Juneteenth and Pride Sunday. Christian Explorers at Edwards Church will also focus on what it means to offer an “extravagant welcome.” We’ll explore stories of Jesus’ inclusive love and move our Sunday morning gatherings outside when the weather gets warm. We hope you’ll join us for these special activities in June…
- Saying thank you…Our friend Dylan Aufman is graduating from High School! Dylan has been a Sanctuary Shepherd, helping with our Sunday youth programming and being an incredible role model and friend to the children of Edwards Church for the past few years. Help us say “thank you” to Dylan as he leaves for his summer adventures and college in the fall.
- We’ve collected over $300 in our penny jar. It’s time to decide how to use that offering to help other people. Christian Explorers will have time this month to select an organization or a service project and make a difference in the lives of others.
- Tending our herb boxes. Our herb boxes will need watering and weeding as the plants begin to take root. Come to discover which herbs came back after the winter and what’s new in our garden this year.
- On Sunday mornings we help begin and end worship in the sanctuary. In between, we move to our own space in Sue Dickerman Hall or outdoors for stories, crafts, snacks and fun with friends. We hope you’ll join us!
