Pride Celebrations
In a time when LGBTQ+ people are facing increasing acts of hate and threats to our rights, it is more important than ever that we celebrate Pride month. Our worship theme for the month will be “Extravagant Welcome.” There are several special events you are invited to participate in:
Voices Carry: Pride Empowers – Saturday, June 1, 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wellesley Village Church
Edwards Church is proud to announce Voices Carry: Pride Empowers!, a photographic art installation curated by Southborough Safe Spaces and hosted by Village Church in Wellesley. This remarkable collection celebrates unmasked queer joy and serves as a powerful platform for empowerment and visibility. Through the lens of talented photographers Chelsea Bradway and Ray Bernoff, this showcase captures the essence of Pride in its myriad forms, amplifying stories, struggles, and triumphs that deserve recognition and honor.
For us, attending and supporting this event is not merely an act of solidarity; it is a tangible expression of our Open and Affirming Covenant. This resonates deeply with our commitment to inclusivity and acceptance. It is a testament to our unwavering promise to embrace and uplift every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. By engaging with the Voices Carry: Pride Empowers! art installation, we reaffirm our belief in unconditional love for all of God’s people.
This art installation presents a unique opportunity for our congregation to come together in unity and love, and to support the LGBTQ+ youth of Southborough Safe Spaces with your time, talent, and treasure. This unparalleled artistic collection invites us to reflect on the ways in which we can live into our values of acceptance and compassion, both within our faith community and beyond its walls. As we celebrate Pride Month, let us remember that our support for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and visibility is a vital aspect of our mission as a welcoming and inclusive church all year long.
We encourage all members and friends to join us on Saturday, June 1, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Village Church in Wellesley for this must-see Voices Carry: Pride Empowers! photographic art installation. Let us stand together, proud in our diversity, committed to creating a world where everyone is embraced for who they are.

Progress Pride Flag-Raising Celebration – Sunday, June 2, 2:00-4:30 p.m., City Hall
Join us on Sunday, June 2, for the City of Framingham Progress Pride flag-raising celebration in front of the Memorial Building. Rev. Debbie Clark will be MC, welcoming reflections from city officials, youth, and community leaders. There will be a DJ, swag, and tables for organizations we support. There will be a table for interfaith community groups that are Open and Affirming (like us!). If you are open to chatting with folks at that table (offering them an extravagant welcome), please speak with Debbie.
