In June, Christian Explorers had fun in the kitchen to bake banana muffins for the World Central Kitchen fundraiser. This summer, we’ll meet two “superheroes” from the Bible – Miriam and Lydia. Who were these amazing women and what can we learn from them? We’ll also spend time outdoors, have fun in several intergenerational services, even help to lead worship! We hope you’ll join us for these special summer activities…
- A garden for Ms. Myrna. On Sunday, July 21, after worship, we’ll gather to use our penny jar donations to create a raised bed garden for Myrna’s back porch, then help her plant herbs for the summer months. Watch for more details.
- A mid-summer church picnic! Mark your calendar for Sunday afternoon, August 4,when you’re invited to a church picnic at the home of Debbie Roy. Come for swimming, games, good food and summer fun with friends.
- Visiting our friends at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center on Tuesday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. Christian Explorers will join Rev. Debbie when she visits Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham. As a service project this summer, we’ll create something to share and bring greetings to our senior members and others who reside there.
- Tending our herb boxes. Our herb boxes are already overflowing and will need watering and weeding over the summer. Come to help tend the garden and harvest herbs for A Place to Turn food pantry.
On Sunday mornings we help begin and end worship in the sanctuary. In between, we move to our own space in Sue Dickerman Hall or outdoors for stories, crafts, snacks and fun with friends. We hope you’ll join us!
