Community Dance
Saturday, September 7, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. at Open Spirit in Edwards Hall
Join us for an uplifting Community Dance where everyone is invited to join in the fun! Whether you’re dancing in sets, lines, or circles, this joyful gathering doesn’t require a partner and the dances are easy to learn.
Open to all ages with accommodations available for the differently-abled, our dance will be a wonderful opportunity to come together, build connections, and simply enjoy moving to the music. We look forward to dancing with you!
Tickets: $10 person / $25 per family – more if you can, less if you can’t.
Community Meditation with Joti Royster
Saturday, September 14, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Open Spirit in Edwards Hall
Joti will join us at Open Spirit for community meditation, followed by reflections and sharing (for those who’d like to stay). It is an opportunity to sit in person, with practitioners and friends.
There will be guided meditation interspersed with silence for the first forty minutes followed by reflections, questions and insights, sharing, readings, friendship.
This event is a sharing of truth, freely offered.

The VMAC (Vegan Mac ‘N Cheese) Cook-off Competition
Saturday, September 21, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Open Spirit in Edwards Hall
Join us for great food and lots of fun as we sample our cooks’ best recipes and select the best vegan Mac and Cheese. To keep this event environmentally friendly, we will be using compostable goods but encourage you to bring your own eating utensil. Ingredient lists will accompany all dishes.

New Class: Gentle Yoga with Sarah Hofschire
Wednesdays, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Open Spirit in Edwards Hall
September 4, 11, and 18 and October 2, 9, 16, and 23
Sarah Hofschire is excited to continue teaching Gentle Yoga at Open Spirit. Her teaching style is all-levels / gentle with a focus on increased balance, strength, mobility and mind-body connection with a bit of creative movement added to the mix.
The cost is $140 for the pre-paid 7-class session. Classes will be pro-rated at $25 per class if you pay in advance and select the dates you plan to attend. Drop-in classes are $30 — space is not guaranteed, but we’ll do our best to make room.

Open Spirit has everything you need for a comfortable yoga class, but you’re welcome to bring your own mat and props as well. We hope you’ll try a class!

Writing for Healing: Beginning on September 24

Discover the Healing Power of Writing!
Join us for our upcoming Writing for Healing Workshop. Led by Jacqueline Harris, this 6-session workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the connection between writing and healing.
Writing for Healing is designed to benefit individuals facing serious or chronic illnesses, as well as those dealing with pain, grief, anxiety, or depression. Through structured writing exercises and guided reflection, participants will have the opportunity to observe and process their thoughts and emotions in a supportive group setting.
No writing experience required. All are welcome to join us on this journey of self-discovery and healing.
