In September, as we enter a new “school” year, Christian Explorers will have time to catch up with church friends to share about summer adventures. This month we have several special services — our annual Blessing of the Animals and a service to say goodbye to Karen Nell as she retires and leaves Edwards Church. We’ll spend the rest of the month learning about Jesus’ greatest sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. In this sermon, Jesus taught about God’s kin-dom, how God wants us to live into it, and what it means to be blessed.
Mark your calendar for these September special events…
- Sunday, September 1 — A worship service celebrating American Sign Language. We’ll have fun remembering all the ASL signs we’ve learned over the last few years!
- Sunday, September 8 — Our Annual Blessing of the Animals. Bring your pet to a special outdoor worship. We’ll celebrate and bless our animal friends in a fun and sometimes a bit chaotic service.
- Sunday, September 15 — A Sacred Service of Sending Forth will be Karen Nell’s last worship service with us. Come to say thank you and goodbye!
On Sunday mornings Christian Explorers help begin and end worship. In between, we always worship together with stories, crafts, snacks and fun with friends. We hope you’ll join us!
