Absorbing the Warmth of Community and the Sun
Mondays at noon in a sunny spot on our campus
The weather is fine (or not)! The conversation is inspiring (for sure)! The group is caring (absolutely)!
Join us at noon every Monday (unless it rains).
Monday Afternoon Book Group on Mondays at 4 pm on Zoom
In April we will be reading Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan. Based on the true story of a forgotten hero, the USA Today and #1 Amazon Charts bestseller Beneath a Scarlet Sky is the triumphant, epic tale of one young man’s incredible courage and resilience during one of history’s darkest hours.
Pino Lella wants nothing to do with the war or the Nazis. He’s a normal Italian teenager – obsessed with music, food, and girls – but his days of innocence are numbered. When his family home in Milan is destroyed by Allied bombs, Pino joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps, and falls for Anna, a beautiful widow six years his senior.
The group reads about 100 pages a week, then meets for an hour each week on Zoom for a discussion. New members are most welcome ~ join us for interesting reading, spirited conversation and laughter! Contact Peggy Harrison at peggyoharrison@aol.com for the Zoom link, reading assignment, and discussion questions.
