I’m sure you’ve heard some facts about the impact of animal agriculture on Mother Earth. But, let me quantify the impact of your dietary choices.*
Each day of eating a plant-based diet saves:
- 1,100 gallons of water
- 45 lbs of grain
- 30 sq ft of forest
- 20 lbs of CO2
- 1 animal’s life
If you pledged to go plant-based for April, multiply your impact by 30 days (see below)!!!!!!
Lent on a plant-based diet saves:
- 33,000 gallons of water
- 1,350 lbs of grain
- 900 sq ft of forest
- 600 lbs of CO2
- 30 animals’ lives
And, just to blow your mind, here’s what a year would save:
- 401,500 gallons of water
- 16,425 lbs of grain
- 10,950 sq ft of forest
- 7,300 lbs of CO2
- 365 animals’ lives
So…I challenge you to make a commitment during Earth Month to be part of the solution. If you need help, feel free to reach out to Laura Beck at: ljbveganmentor@gmail.com
